Once again, the key players in the textile industry are gathering at La Rural Trade Center in Buenos Aires for this major networking, business, and professional development event: Emitex, International Trade Fair of Suppliers for the Garment Industry, Simatex, International Trade Fair of Textile Machinery and Confemaq, International Trade Fair of Garment Machinery.
The opening day featured a wide range of innovations, trends and proposals addressing every segment of the industry. In this regard, the Project Manager of the exhibition, Andrea Lippi, stated: “At Emitex, Simatex and Confemaq, three exhibitions come together to offer a comprehensive overview of the industry’s advances across all segments. Bringing together suppliers, technology and machinery in one space is the first step toward building business networks that later translate into brands, companies, projects and ventures within the textile and apparel sector.”
One of the highlights of the first day was “Perspectivas”, a new conference series within the exhibition that brings together industry leaders to share experiences, analyze trends, and discuss the present and future of the sector. Within this framework, Claudio Drescher, President of the Argentine Chamber of Apparel and of Jazmín Chebar, led the conference “Industry: A Strategic Asset for Our Development”, addressing the key challenges facing the sector. Meanwhile, Silvia Barreto, professor and Academic Deputy Director at FADU (UBA), presented “Beyond Design: How to Build a Role within the Industry”, providing an academic and educational perspective.
The program also included a focus on the digital ecosystem. In the talk “Anti-Marketing: Building a Brand with Identity in a Saturated Market”, designer and brand strategy consultant Angie Chevallier shared insights on strengthening emerging brands. In “Creativity + Technology: Artificial Intelligence in Fashion”, digital marketing consultant and university professor Nicolás Milone explored the impact of AI on the industry.
In addition, “Made in Argentina Trends” were presented by fashion consultant Ash Matheu in the talk “Consumption Trends 26/27”, focusing on strategies to translate global shifts into the local context.
This edition also features denim wear as a key highlight through Denim Station, a dedicated space running throughout the event where visitors can explore and learn about the production and design processes behind jeanswear.
The exhibitions will run until June 4, welcoming business leaders, professionals and industry specialists from across the textile and garment sectors. Emitex, Simatex and Confemaq 2026 are organized by Messe Frankfurt Argentina and Revista Mundo Textil, and are part of Texpertise, a global network of more than 60 textile industry events that connect innovation, trends and business opportunities worldwide.
